another drawing completed today! a calla lily! well, not actually completed yet, but i still need to think of something else to put in the background. maybe another lily? more leaves? eh, i'll figure it out. but i at least got the MAIN drawing out of the way. only thing that really sucks, is that my white chalk pastel is pretty much down to the nub. lol. so looks like i'll be making a run to the store pretty soon for more supplies.
other than that, its been a pretty peaceful day today. my son is with his grandma for the day, so i've had all this extra time on my hands. i should have cleaned somewhat today, but instead i fell asleep watching mrs. doubtfire on netflix earlier. didn't want to, but it was definitely worth it. now i think it's time for some music while i do some simple sketching of my next pastel piece. im really feeling ivy lately. i rarely see any painters paint ivy as a main painting, only as part of a background. makes me believe it's just THAT hard to draw, haha! but definitely ivy...with maybe some swirly's in the background? i will most likely change my mind before i finish my sketches -.-
also, heres another pastel painting i did a few days ago, my most absolute FAVORITE flowers, daffodils! i should have framed this one by now, but i've decided to hold off on framing any of these just yet due to the fact my son gets pretty curious, and will probably wreck them if he gets his hands on them. so they will remain tacked to my bedroom walls until i can find a safe place to put them away.
